Olympiakos beats Kerkyra 2-0 in Greek league

ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- Defending champion Olympiakos comfortably handled visiting Kerkyra 2-0 to extend its provisional lead in the Greek league to eight points over PAOK Thessaloniki on Saturday.

PAOK plays at Panathinaikos on Sunday.

Costas Mitroglou scored in the 23rd minute and Dimitris Siovas in the 55th for Olympiakos, while Kerkyra threatened only once, in the waning minutes.

Also, third-place Panionios beat Platanias 4-0, and Giannena defeated host Aris 2-1.
