PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Casey Hampton remains convinced the Pittsburgh Steelers are heading to the playoffs.
The veteran nose tackle says he feels "great" about his team's prospects even after the Steelers (7-6) stumbled to a lackluster 34-24 loss to San Diego on Sunday, the fourth time this season Pittsburgh has fallen to a team with a losing record.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger can't explain why the Steelers seem to save their worst performances for the weakest teams on their schedule. The good news for Pittsburgh is the other teams in the AFC playoff picture can't seem to play with any consistency either.
The Steelers remain in the final wild card spot with three weeks to go. They play in Dallas (7-6) next Sunday but will likely do it without left guard Willie Colon, who injured his knee against the Chargers and could be out indefinitely.
