Minerva Police Reports

On July 16, 8:56 a.m., police received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle parked in Bicentennial Park. Information was obtained for a report and some property was recovered and returned to the owner.

On July 16, 11:47 a.m., police received a report of a theft from a business on South Market Street. Information was obtained for a report.

On July 16, 1:24 p.m., police received a report of a theft from a residence on North Market Street. Charged was Tammy Downs, of Minerva, for Theft. Information was obtained for a report and Downs is scheduled to appear in Minerva Mayor's Court.

On July 16, 5:03 p.m., police arrested Brad Williams, of Minerva, on a warrant out of Canton Police Department for Failure to Comply. Information was obtained for a report and Williams was transferred to the custody of Canton Police Department.

On July 17, 12:51 a.m., police received a report of an assault at a residence on Hanna Street. Information was obtained for a report.

On July 17, 9:19 a.m., police received a report of breaking and entering at a business on West Line Street. Information was obtained for a report.

On July 17, 6:25 p.m., after investigating false information given on a traffic stop, police charged Michael Proctor, of Canton, for Falsification, Driving Under Suspension, Illegal Plates, Expired Plates, Seat Belt and Possession of Marijuana. Information was obtained for a report and warrants were issued for Proctor.

On July 18, 7:12 a.m., police received a report of a disorderly subject at a residence on North Market Street. Information was obtained for a report.

On July 18, 7:44 a.m., police arrested Eric Freeman, of Canton, on warrants out of Minerva Mayor's Court for Failure to Pay Fines and Costs on four counts of Petty Theft. Information was obtained for a report and Freeman is scheduled to appear in Minerva Mayor's Court.

On July 19, 5:55 p.m., police received a report of a theft of a bicycle on Wine Street. Information was obtained for a report.

On July 21, 7:10 a.m., police received a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle parked on Euclid Avenue. Information was obtained for a report.

On July 21, 9:22 a.m., police received a report of passing bad checks from a business on Alliance Road. Information was obtained for a report.

On July 21, 11:10 a.m., police received a report of found property of a bicycle on East High Street. Information was obtained for a report.

On July 21, 10:47 a.m., while on a traffic stop, police charged Lori Cutlip, of Minerva, for Driving Under Suspension, Expired Plates and Seat Belt. Information was obtained for a report and Cutlip is scheduled to appear in Alliance Municipal Court.

On July 21, 12:42 p.m., while on a traffic stop police charged Ronald Oldfield, of Minerva, for Driving Under Suspension and Seat Belt. Oldfield was also arrested on a warrant out of Stark County for Failure to Appear. Information was obtained for a report and Oldfield is scheduled to appear in Minerva Mayor's Court. Oldfield was transferred to the custody of Stark County.

On July 21, 2:04 p.m., police received a report of a civil matter from a resident on Liberty Street. Information was obtained for a report.

On July 22, 10:44 a.m., police received a report of vandalism to property at a residence on West Line Street. Information was obtained for a report.

On July 22, 6:08 p.m., police received a report of a domestic dispute at a residence on West Line Street. Arrested was James Hoopingarner, of Minerva, on a warrant out of Stark County for Failure to Comply with Court Order. Information was obtained for a report and Hoopingarner was transferred to the custody of Stark County.

Accident Report

On July 19, 3:42 p.m. a vehicle operated by Mackenzi Betters, of Minerva, was westbound on the 900 block of South Grant Boulevard, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a rock and some shrubs, then came to rest in the yard of a private residence. Disabling damages to the vehicle and property damages reported. Incapacitating injuries reported. Betters was cited for Failure to Control and Driving Under Suspension.
