Madison Timmerman and Sarah Fry

Madison Timmerman and Sarah Fry are the March Teens of the Month at Minerva High School.

The daughter of Mike and Christi Timmerman, of Minerva, Madison holds a 4.0 grade point average and is a two-year member of the National Honor Society.

In addition to serving in the high school's pep club, Madison is a member of International Circle and, this year, joined Students against Destructive Decisions. She is a past participant of the Junior Scholars Program.

Madison has devoted her four years of high school to serving on the cheerleading team, for which she is currently captain, and she has also participated in the weight lifting and conditioning program.

Her volunteer projects have included serving as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army's annual kettle drive, organizing food baskets for needy families at Thanksgiving, participating for two years in the Minerva YMCA's Unity Walk fund-raiser, and volunteer during her freshman and sophomore years at Great Trail Care Center.

For three years she was named a Scholar Athlete. She has also lettered as a varsity cheerleader, and she has placed on the Dean's List for college classes at Kent State Stark that are offered to high school students.

Madison plans to pursue a degree in medical technology at college with a goal of becoming an MRI technician at a children's hospital.

Sarah, who is the daughter of Margret and the late Craig Fry, of Minerva, holds a 3.97 GPA and is also a two-year member of the National Honor Society.

She has been a member of the pep club for the past two years and for three years was a member of Students against Destructive Decisions. Her activities during her freshman and sophomore years included membership with International Circle.

Sarah is a four-year member of Minerva High School's cheerleading team and has also devoted time to art projects including the "Picket Pal Project," which uses pickets that community members paint as public sculpture.

Other community-minded projects that Sarah has been involved in include serving as a Salvation Army bell ringer, helping to decorate Minerva's Roxy Theatre, and participating in the YMCA's Unity Walk fund-raiser.

In addition to being named a Scholar Athlete during her freshman and sophomore years, Sarah was named an NBC Scholar Athlete this year and last year. She is also a past participant in the Junior Scholars Program.

Sarah plans to attend The Ohio State University after graduating from high school.
