Carroll Chapter Order of the Eastern Star met on Jan. 5.
Guests greeted were Deputy Grand Matron District 13 Brenda Momirovic of Louisville. Other guests were Honored Masons Jim Myers, Fred Boggs, David Rainsberger, Dwight Williams, and Wayne Sperber, District President Glenda Carter, Charities Director Brenda Sperber, and fifty year members Carter and Myers.
Those needing sunshine were Karen Bray, Gene and LaVerne Hutto, Joe Moledor, and Edgar Cotter. The Charter was draped in memory of Mary White a 46 year member and past worthy matron in 1976.
The Worthy Matron thanked everyone who helped with the Christmas events: parade, visiting nursing homes, sharing the bread, and giving to a needy family. Volunteer hours reported from June through December were 1,232 hours and other donations.
District Charities Rock a Thon is to be held at Lisbon Masonic Center on April 30 from 2-5 p.m. Get sponsors and bring a rocker and have a fun time. Jan. 21 from 2-4 p.m. will be the EOP educational meeting at the North Canton Legacy Center with a light lunch, and a donation to the charities fund. Snow date is Jan. 28.
At the Feb. 2 meeting there will be protem initiation and a Valentine box lunch auction to benefit the Learning Center. Also bring supplies for the center. If any members are bow or gun hunters or target shooters report it to Glenda Carter. All couples married over 50 years will be honored by the state organization.
