Ruritan Club discusses budget

The Jan. 17 club meeting of the Little Sandy Creek Ruritan Club met at the Paris Israel Church in Paris. There were 23 members present.

President Dick Pero called the meeting to order and Dick Beck led the singing. Dick Lotze held the invocation.

The members of Paris Israel Church served the club dinner consisting of salad, ham loaf, potatoes, vegetables, cake and pie.

Minutes from the last meeting were approved. Treasurer's report was approved. Bob DeMate made a motion to drop some from the roll and motion was carried after a second from Gene Saeger.

Lotze reported on the need to repair some equipment and made repairs that were successful and everything is ready for the club's project.

Pero brought the short fall the club experience when preparing the fruit baskets this year. Bill Tuttle, Jr. motioned for approval to pay additional costs incurred this year and Harry Murray seconded. Motion passed.

Lotze reported that the club needs to increase its budget this year to meet additional costs that will be incurred this year.

Ohio District Governor Mike Wright reported on the condition of Karl Keiner, the assistant Zone 5 governor. Wright also reported on the fire victims in Malvern. Denny Snyder moved to give a donation to help the family's expenses. Tuttle, Sr. seconded and motion was carried.

Lotze then spoke about a church member at Paris Israel Church and sought help for this man. Snyder moved to help with a donation and Tuttle, Sr. seconded. Motion passed.

The group budget was also accepted.
