Robertsville Grange to host talk on heroin addiction

Robertsville Grange 1784 met March 10 for a covered dish dinner preceding the meeting, which was called to order by Master Bill Walter. Ila Jene Ramser was the door prize winner. Birthdays of Bernie Bresson, Jim Shepherd, Darlene Drage and Pat Lautzenheiser were recognized in song and each received a candy bar. All chairpersons gave reports. Secretary's minutes were read and corrected, and treasurer's report was read and accepted.

Donations were made to Jenn Wisenrad Grange to go to the Dominican Republic. A donation was made to St. Baldrick Foundation and to the Sheriff Spouse Fund.

The March 24 meeting will begin at 7 p.m. with the open meeting program taking place first and Major Oliver speaking about heroin addiction. There will be no meeting April 14 in observance of Good Friday.

County winners of the baking contest were: Martha Haubert, first place, cheddar cheese biscuits; Bill Walter, first place, apple crisp.

There were 31 in attendance at the program on St. Patrick's Day.
