Marion Rummell to be honored for 90th birthday

Marion Rummell will celebrate his 90th birthday Sunday with an open house from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Freeburg Church of the Brethren.

He was born April 7, 1927, to David and Anna Rummell at their family farm near Freeburg, Ohio. He is the second youngest of five children.

Marion spent his working years as a partner in the operation of Rummell Lumber and Farms. He also was a Washington Township fireman for 36 years and three of these as chief. He is a 58-year member of the Washington Township Ruritan Club. He is a life member of the Freeburg Church of the Brethren.

Marion and his wife, Vera, have three children, Kenneth (Eileen), of Alliance; Nancy (Elmer), of Sebring; and Shirley (James), of Minerva; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
