Pomona Grange holds baking contest

Pomona Grange 28 met on March 4 at Pike Grange with Master Bill Walter presiding over the meeting. Walter welcomed all to the meeting.

There were 28 in attendance. The secretary and treasurers reports were given and accepted as read. A donation was made to the Ohio State Youth to support SSA Housing Stark County Ambassador. All chairpersons gave a report.

All granges present gave a quarterly report on events happening or that has happened. County baking contest was held, winners are: Cheddar cheese biscuits, Martha Hauber, first place and Judy Melhorn, second place; molasses cookies Ann Frizzell, first place, and Judy Lauby, second place; apple crisp men only, Bill Walter first place and Ed Cochran, second place; chocolate chip muffins, Cora Miller, first place and Rebecca Melhorn, second place; and colored jello cookies, Clay Milter, first and Cindy Milia, second place.

Program was on colors of March and Kayla Rohr gave an update on her trip to the Bahamas through International Christian Center for the Deaf.

Delicious chicken sandwiches and sides were prepared by Pike members.
