Carroll Chapter Order of the Eastern Star met on May 4 with 22 members present. Worthy Matron Brenda Sperber welcomed all with a Mother's Day greeting.
Guests greeted were Honored Masons Fred Boggs, Joe Phillis, Dwight Williams, Wayne Sperber; 50-year members Donna Tucker, Mary Anna Cotter; and Glenda Carter, District #13 President.
Charities Director Brenda Sperber thanked all for their support this year and stated that more than $1,300 was raised at the Rock-A-Thon. The Carroll Chapter team won the Race-A-Rama, which raised $620 for the District 13 Association.
Reported needing cheer were David Rainsberger, Cathy Strawder, Pat Bentley, Ron Philips, Ray Shepherd, and Joe and Ruth Moledor.
The chapter donated $75 to the Relay for Life to be held on May 20 at the fairgrounds. Wendy Rainsberger gave a report on the activities to be held that day.
Coming events are the Widows Dinner on May 25, 6 p.m; Memorial Day Parade where we will have a float on May 29; and a friendship event June 10 at East Palestine.
Following lunch by Deb Walko and Mary Anna Cotter, several shared photos and memories of their Mothers. All received a pansy flower.
The next meeting will be June 1 with election of officers and annual reports given.
