First Baptist Church to host comedian
First Baptist Church of Malvern with the gracious cooperation of Damascus Friend's Church will be featuring Sweet Life Comedy Tour with comedian Scott Davis on Friday, Aug. 18, 7 p.m. at Damascus Friends Church building, 401 W. Main Street, Malvern (old school building). Doors open at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 19, 12 p.m. noon - 4:30 p.m. First Baptist Church's annual Tent Meeting will be held. Pastors Abraham, Kinlow and Newsome will be the speakers and various musical groups will provide inspirational selections. There is no charge for the Saturday meeting and free refreshments will be provided. All are welcome.
Caregiver support group meets Monday
The Caregiver Support Group from the Area Agency on Aging, Region 9 will meet Monday, July 17, 2:30-4 p.m., at the Carroll County District Library, 70 Second St. N.E., Carrollton.
This support group will address questions, concerns and problems of unpaid caregivers who are caring for their loved ones. Those who take care of a parent, a spouse, neighbor or friend, or those who help someone do something the person cannot do themselves, are caregivers.

St. Paul's free food giveaway
Every month Minerva Community Outreach at St. Paul's buys and distributes food to local residents. Its volunteer staff will be distributing the food items free of charge to low income households in the Minerva, Brown Local and United School Districts. Anyone is eligible who qualifies under Federal and State guidelines through The Emergency Food Assistance Program. Just come to the parking lot in the rear of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 515 East Line Street (across from East Lawn Cemetery) on Friday, July 28.
You will not need to leave your vehicle. Our volunteers will assist you with registration, and they will place all items into your vehicle. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and continues until 10:45 a.m. The distribution of the food is between 9-11 a.m. until all are served.Bring a photo ID.

The Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Minerva will host a free stargazing night Wednesday, July 19, 9 p.m., in Bicentennial Park. Bicentennial Park is located on Murray Avenue.
See the moons of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, and possibly more, as well as learning about telescopes.
