Crossroads RC&D will serve as the host RC&D for the 2010 North Central Association of RC&D Councils Regional Conference April 11-13 at the Atwood Lodge and Conference Center in Dellroy.
The Ohio Association of RC&D Councils will host the event this year. The theme, "Partnering for Sustainability," is designed so participants can take the information home and continue to make a difference in their local community.
The three-day event kicks off with a president's reception Sunday, April 11.The conference begins Monday, April 12, with a general session and presentations by the Ohio Farm Bureau and the Ohio Ornithological Society. There will be three training sessions on Energy and the future of coal, alternative energy and resource protection; RC&D Council self-sustainability; and NRCS master facilitator training.
On Tuesday, April 13, attendees will be able to hear council success stories and project presentations, including Crossroads' successful Don Myers Apiary Project. Three conference tours will be offered on Maximizing Local History for Economic Development; Mineral Extraction and Manufacturing Resource Improvement for Economic Growth; and Acid Mine Drainage, Reclamation and Flood Control.
