While touring Ohio Senate District 33 on Aug. 13, Senator Joe Schiavoni stopped briefly at Carroll Electric Cooperative, Inc., in Carrollton, to learn about rural electric cooperatives.
Larry Fenbers, chief executive officer of Carroll Electric, provided the senator a guided tour of the Carroll County facility and discussed how rural electric cooperatives began. In addition, Fenbers discussed the distribution involved in the member-owned electric co-op. Schiavoni also visited briefly with employees and discussed his interest in learning more about electric co-ops and the communities included in District 33.
Fenbers thanked Schiavoni for his support earlier this year regarding SB 162 and HB 276 and his objection to a proposed amendment regarding pole attachment issues. Fenbers asked the senator to continue this support should this issue resurface.
