Farmers urged to attend agronomy workshop

Published:

Farmers in the business of growing corn, soybeans, wheat or other crops, are encouraged to mark their calendars for Thursday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m., for the second in a series of three agronomy workshops that will be held at the Carrollton Ponderosa on State Route 43.

The Carroll Soil and Water Conservation District and the U.S. Department of Agriculture - Natural Resources Conservation Service are teaming up with Roger Thomas of Thomas Ag Consulting to offer local crop-producer workshops geared toward addressing current crop-production issues.

The second workshop will focus on flying on cover crops, plant population and spacing for corn and soybeans, and cover-crop options for a rotation.

For more information about these workshops, please contact Kevin Swope at 330-627-5537 or e-mail kevin.swope@oh.usda.gov.
