Scott Brothers Grocery and Meat Market in Harlem Springs will make a $5 donation to Heifer International for every "Wintertime Bundle" sold before Easter.
The Wintertime Bundle costs $150 and includes 10 pounds of ground chuck, five pounds of boneless pork chops, five pounds of boneless chicken breasts, five pounds of Scott Brothers' own sausage, three pounds of ham loaf, four pounds of rolled rump roast, and six strip steaks.
Scott Brothers has set a goal of selling 100 bundles and, through Heifer International, buying a cow for a family Slovakia. This purchase will not only provide the cow, but also the education to care for it.
Because a healthy cow can produce a calf every year, every gift will be passed on and eventually help an entire community move from poverty to self-reliance.
Bundles must be ordered one week in advance.
