Don Burns Orchestra brings big-band sound to ampitheater

The Don Burns Big Band Orchestra will perform Saturday, Sept. 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bluebird Farm Ampitheatre in Carrollton.

The Don Burns Orchestra was formed to perform, promote and sustain big-band music more than 41 years ago.

Currently, it has 17 musicians and two vocalists.

At this performance, the vocal quartet, the Sunrise Serenaders, will be featured. The Speelman Sisters will open the performance with a patriotic moment.

Those attending may sit and enjoy the music or they may dance on an outdoor dance floor. Two exhibition dance numbers will be peformed by Lana and Ken, the "Sultry Dancing Duo."

Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for senior citizens. Tickets may be purchased at the Carroll County Visitors Bureau, Ark Water, Bluebird Restaurant and Gordon's Graphics in Malvern. For more information, contact Betty Soloman at 330-735-2633 or Keith Barnett at 330-739-0023.
