Paris trustees learn of repairs to firetruck, road

Published:

The Paris Township Board of Trustees learned July 19 that repairs continue to plague the township pumper truck.

Lt. Tim Tarbet of the Minerva Volunteer Fire Department reported repairs are needed for engine no. 4.

According to All-American Fire, there are still some repair issues from the pumper truck, which was wrecked, that need to be addressed.

Tarbet also advised the trustees that Minerva, Robertsville and Washington Township fire departments should all be called for structure fires to be sure there is enough manpower at the fire.

Road Superintendent Dan Stowe reported Fox Avenue, near Baird Avenue, has been fixed by the county. Trustee Jim Kiko said he had spoken to Gary Connors of the Stark County Engineer's Office concerning the flooding that caused the damage to Fox Avenue. Connors told Kiko he would look into the matter.

It was announced a meeting with Smith Ambulance of Stark-Summit concerning the ambulance-service contract with Paris Township has been set for Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 3 p.m. at the township garage.

In other business, the board:

* HEARD Stowe report there was one funeral last week and the grader, which will be used on Crowl, Stucky and Warren streets, arrived July 19 from the rental company.

* LEARNED Trustee Mike Stewart and Kiko will call the power companaies to get the streetlights repaired in the township.

* PAID bills totaling $19,825.
