New website debuts today

Published:

The News Leader is launching its new website today.

Our readers will have an improved and updated site to visit for local and national news updates.

One major benefit of the new site is that information will be easy to find and presented in a more appealing manner. All of our news will be available on the "Mega Menu," which is a list that runs horizontally across the top of the home page. News will be available in list format under the "News" tab. Once you are on the home page (www.tnl-news.com), hover over the "News" tab and click on the news category you would like to view (for example: Opinion, Religion and Lifestyles, Local Sports, etc.). Additionally, local and Associated Press sports stories can be found on the "Sports" tab on the Mega Menu.

In an effort to make our news easy to find, stories will also be located in other areas of the site. For example, daily Local News headlines will appear under the "Latest Headlines" header, located on the home page under the Mega Menu. News stories will also be organized by section in "News Clouds" which will be located under the Carousel (rotating photos) on the home page.

Unlike our current format, our content will be "locked" behind a paywall. Our content will remain unlocked temporarily.

"Locked" stories will be designated with a lock symbol to the right of the story. Locked articles are those that are available only to paid subscribers. Once a paid subscriber has logged into the site, all articles will be available for viewing. We encourage those who are not subscribers to purchase a subscription so that all of the features of our new site will be available to them.Current subscribers may call the Circulation Department at 330-868-5164 to set up an account.
