Minerva High School graduate and Army Specialist Hunter M. Galay has deployed overseas in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, according to a release from the U.S. military's Joint Hometown News Service.

Atlantic Resolve is a program designed to facilitate operations and security efforts with NATO allies and partners in light of the Russian intervention in Ukraine.

It is part of a larger effort, led by Army Europe, that includes multi-national training activities, cooperative security exercises and other military operations in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.

Atlantic Resolve training events seek to improve collaborative operations and to strengthen relationships among allied armies while contributing to regional stability and demonstrating the United States of America's support of NATO, the release stated.

Galay is the son of Dave C. and Jaynie L. Galay, of Minerva, and the husband of Celeste N. Galay of East Rochester.
