Carroll County's Ohio State University Extension will offer a ten-week program beginning March 21 to help individuals get started, or get back on track, toward a healthier weight.
Family and consumer sciences educator Cheryl Mickley will lead the "Start With 10" program, which will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7-8 p.m. at the OSU Extension office, 613 N. High St., in Carrollton.
There is a one-time $20 charge for the ten-week session that helps cover the costs of printing and program materials. Space is limited, so registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Call the extension office at 330-627-4310. Classes will meet each Tuesday of each week.
"Start With 10" stresses that a balanced approach, which includes eating a variety of foods, being physically active, and modifying unhealthy behaviors, is necessary to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
Learning about eating habits and triggers, the importance of movement, and identifying personal barriers to success will help program participants move towards their healthy weights. The class will include healthy food demonstrations, new recipes and resources, and weekly topics.
