Ohio State University Extension of Stark County, with support from the Ohio Farm Bureau, will host an Agri Lunch and Learn Program on Wednesday, April 12, at 11:15 a.m. at the R.G. Drage Career Technical Center in Massillon.
The free program will feature a presentation followed by a question-and-answer session by the Ohio Seed Improvement Association on the Ohio Certified Noxious Weed Free Forage and Mulch Program.
The program will provide information to interested producers so that they can learn more about how to convert their forage crops into a certified product for purchase and use by local pipeline companies, landscapers, and site restoration companies. There are currently only four certified NWF dealers in Ohio, but none are located in northeastern Ohio.
The agenda for the day will begin with a short registration at 11:15 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. and the program at 12:15 p.m. A catered buffet lunch prepared by Be Your Own Boss Catering Chef Robert Monter will be provided for a fee of $5. Participants should plan to pay at the door with cash or check. All checks should be made payable to the Stark County Farm Bureau.
An RSVP is required for lunch and to determine the number of handouts. Interested producers can register by e-mailing Heather Neikirk at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 330-832-9856, ext. 3476. The deadline to register with lunch included is April 7: registration for the program only is by noon on April 11.
