Art Spot show and gala set for April 14

Minerva's Market Street Art Spot at 217 N. Market St. will hold a juried group show and gala opening reception on Friday, April 14, 5-9 p.m., to honor the work of the gallery's current and former display and resident artists.

The "Fresh Expressions" show of more than 30 artists' works will also feature live music by the acoustic duo "JT and Dave," who will play blues, jazz and pop music. Refreshments will be provided.

This month's sponsor of the opening reception is the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce. The reception, music and show are free and open to the public.

"Fresh Expressions" will continue at the Art Spot through May 6. The Art Spot continues to be open for regular business on Fridays from 1-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to "Fresh Expressions" in the Art Spot's front gallery, the Art Spot will feature the works of new resident artists Anna Rather, print-maker and painter; Judi Longacre, painter; Susan Crawford, calligraphy; Joan Henninger, painter; and long-time resident artists Michelle Mulligan, painter; Laura Donnelly, potter and painter; Judith Singer, raku potter; and Marty Chapman, wood turner.
