CANTON -- A 25-year-old woman will spend 11 years in prison after admitting Monday to sexually abusing two young girls.
Alisha M. Baggott pleaded guilty to rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition before Stark County Common Pleas Court Judge Taryn Heath.
Last December, Baggott sexually abused two young girls, according to court records filed in the case by the Stark County Prosecutor's Office. The abuse occurred in Beach City and was investigated by Beach City police, according to the prosecutor's office. Baggott ordered one of the girls to perform a sex act, records said.
Social workers with Stark County Children Services, a division of Job & Family Services, contacted police about concerns involving Baggott and the two young girls.
Court records list Baggott's address as the Minerva area at the time of her arrest. Upon release from prison, she must register as a sex offender every 90 days for the rest of her life.
Also charged in the case is Baggott's husband, Jack D. Baggott.
Jack Baggott, 24, whose address is listed in court records as 3217 13th St. SW, is charged with complicity to rape and complicity to gross sexual imposition. He has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.
He solicited, encouraged and/or abetted Alisha Baggott in engaging in a sex act with a young girl during a recorded phone call, according to the court records filed by the prosecutor's office.
Daniel Petricini, an assistant county prosecutor, declined to comment on the case because Jack Baggott's charges are pending.
