The West Township Ruritans held its monthly meeting at Bayard United Methodist Church on April 3. Church women served a lasagna dinner.
President Marianne Gergel called the meeting to order. Mark Overholt led singing of a verse of "America" and Susan Hawk gave the invocation. Meeting opened with Overholt calling roll.
February secretary and treasurer's report were approved as read.
President Gergel reported on the success of the March breakfast and thanked members who donated or worked at the breakfast. Scholarship winners were announced, Gergel will be awarding scholarships at Minerva High School Honors Night.
Work nights were announced for preparing our park for upcoming tractor pulls and homecoming. Volunteers should meet at the park on Thursday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 29 at 10 a.m. The first Garden Tractor Pull is scheduled for May 13.
Much discussion was held on new roofing on the garage and small pavilion to match that placed on the large pavilion last fall.
The next meeting of the club will be held May 1, 6:30 p.m. at East Rochester United Methodist Church.
