Skyland Pines Golf Club hired Korey Waseman as its new Golf Course Superintendent. He replaces long-time superintendent Tom Glines. Waseman, who is a Minerva High School graduate, begins his new position April 10.
Waseman was the Lead Assistant Superintendent at Canton Brookside Country Club since 2013. Among his responsibilities at Brookside were course maintenance, staffing, payroll, and employee training. He helped Brookside rank No. 62 in Golfweek's ranking of the Top 100 Best Classic Courses in the country in 2016.
Before his tenure at Brookside, Waseman held a four-year position of Assistant Superintendent at The Pepper Pike Club, a private golf club in Pepper Pike. He is a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in turfgrass science. He is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents of America where he participates in continuing education courses, blogs and chats to further his knowledge with the latest course management trends and practical applications.
