The Catholic Women's Club at St. Francis Xavier Parish held its fourth Quarter Auction on April 30. We are writing to express our deep appreciation to the generous and supportive members of our community who made the auction a fun and profitable event.
We wish to thank the 200 bidders who purchased tickets to attended the auction; the more than 150 businesses and individuals who donated lovely theme baskets and other items for the oral auction, silent auction and door prizes; the volunteers who baked goodies, and donated other food for our lunch sales; our hard working and creative committees that planned the Quarter Auction, prepared the luncheon, sold tickets, decorated St. Francis Hall and handled the hundreds of tasks necessary to plan this fun and profitable day; and Bonnie Chiurco, our auctioneer, who expertly led us through a fun and fast-bidding experience.
This was our fourth Quarter Auction and it raised more than $5,500, bringing our total revenue from the four auctions to more than $30,000. All proceeds will be used to help build our new parish hall in Malvern.
The new hall will be a wonderful community gathering place. One that will be used for parish activities as well as available to the community at large for fund-raising events, weddings, family gatherings, expositions, etc.
The Quarter Auction is a great example of what can happen when we all work together for the greater good.
Thank you everyone for your support and generosity,
Jan Prevot, President
