The Augusta Cemetery Board met April 30. The meeting was called to order by President Rick garrett. Gary Witts offered a prayer. Roll call was taken and there were nine members present.
The financial reports were given and approved. Mowing was discussed and Cole Fleming was hired for the year. Seven lots were sold this year and eight burials were held.
Officers elected for 2017 were Rick Garrett, president; Brent Baker, vice president; Elizabeth Moser, secretary; Rebekah Gansheimer, treasurer; and Donna Tucker, sexton.
Charges for the lots were discussed. It was decided on July 1 of this year, the price will be raised to $500 for a lot to bury two people. The dumpster was discussed and another company is to be called.
A raffle will be held at the Augusta Strawberry Festival June 9-10. Jane Mardis is in charge of the raffle donations. Elizabeth Moser will work on the parade entrance.
Memorial Day services will be held at the cemetery.
Jaxson Rogers was honored for his fifth birthday with a bowling party at Minerva Bowl. He is the son of Brittany and Aaron Rogers and the grandson of Randy and Janet Dillon.
