Carroll County Relay For Life is May 20

The annual Carroll County Relay For Life is slated for Saturday, May 20, noon until midnight, at the Carroll County Fairgrounds. Bark For Life will be held at this time as well.

This year, Minerva and Carrollton have merged together to form one event. Numerous activities are planned throughout the day.

Relay For Life of Carroll County is slated for Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 12PM-12AM

The 12-hour event will kick off with a Survivor and Caregiver Brunch, 10:30-1:45 a.m., with the Singing Christians performing.

Bark For Life registration begins 11:30 am. The cost is $10 for the first dog and $5 for each additional dog. Bark For Life will be held from noon until 3 p.m. with a Doggie Costume Contest at 1:30 p.m. and a Doggie Talent Show at 2 p.m.

Opening ceremonies begin at noon and features motivational speaker Mike Gallina.

Crowning of the king and queen will take place prior to the survivor lap.

From noon until 3 p.m., a health fair and a vendor fair will be held under the grandstand, and a Ford Drive Event will take place, with $20 per test drive donated to Relay For Life. The event is sponsored by Guess Ford of Carrollton.

A silent auction will be held from noon until 8 p.m., Valley Voices will perform at 3 p.m., a Carroll County K-9 demo will take palce at 3:15 p.m., bingo will begin at 4 p.m., a live auction will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m., and a Zumba class will be given at 6:30 p.m.

Star Struck Gymnastics will perform at 7:30 p.m.; a self-defense demo will be held, and requires preregistration by contacting Alisha Sheaffer at 330-933-9125; an old-fashion cake walk at 4 p.m.; Luminaria will begin at 9:30 p.m.; and Calvin Graham will play the bag pipes at the conclusion of Luminaria.

There will be a concession stand open under the grandstand selling food and drinks by donation.

Several of the teams will also have on site fundraisers, including a raffle for a quilt and decorative metal flower made by Pottsy.
