Mercy Cancer Center is offering free skin cancer screenings to promote prevention and early detection of the disease.
Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers in the United States with one in five Americans developing skin cancer during their lifetime. Skin cancer accounts for nearly half of all cancers in the United States.
Screenings will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 1, at Mercy Health Center of North Canton. Shield M. Wikas, D.O. will perform the screenings.
Screenings are free, but registration is required. Register by calling Mercy's Healthcare Connection at 330-489-1333 or 800-223-8662. Call today to register as appointment times are filling up quickly.
These free screenings are for patients with a specific area or areas of concern. Additionally, this screening is for people not currently under the care of a dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
