Minerva Local Schools' buses were inspected May 8, from top to bottom, and inside and out.
Inspectors with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Road Maintenance Unit checked each bus's engine compartment, undercarriage, exterior chassis and body, and interior of the school-bus body. Signals were switched. Brakes checked. Emergency-exit doors opened and closed. This 40-plus point inspection is designed to keep students safe when they are on the road. The inspectors looked at the seats, windows, latches, emergency directions and its 80-plus lights, as well as ensuring there were no loose screws and nuts and bolts, or leaks.
