Minerva-based Consumers National Bank will expand to another county when it opens a full-service branch on Monday in Bergholz.
"Expanding to Jefferson County shows that Consumers is committed to bringing community banking to under-served but viable markets," said Ralph J. Lober II, president and chief executive officer. "The bank worked with village officials and local business owners to establish the office. The enthusiasm and commitment to a local banking operation was impressive."
The Bergholz office will serve customers in northern Jefferson, southern Columbiana and eastern Carroll counties. It will be the 13th branch opened by Consumers, and will have a full-service lobby, two drive-up teller lanes and a drive-up automated teller machine.
Lober noted that since Consumers opened in 1965, the bank has grown primarily by investing back into the communities where it does business, with local investors and depositors supporting local lending.
