Back to School help is available from the Salvation Army Minerva/Malvern Unit for children in the Minerva and Malvern school districts. Families that meet income guidelines may apply to receive backpacks full of school supplies for their child(ren) grades kindergarten through 8th.

Applications will be available at the Salvation Army office during the month of June on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.. The office is located in the Depot, 301 Valley Street in Minerva. Bring proof of residence and income. Call Cindy Beight, Back to School Coordinator, at 330-868-5808 with any questions. No sign ups will be accepted after June 30.

Local businesses, individuals, and churches are encouraged to donate backpacks and/or school supplies or to adopt a child(ren) for the Back to School program. Call the office for a list of items that are needed. Monetary donations may be sent to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 74, Minerva, Ohio 44657.

"Thank you in advance for your generosity," said Unit Coordinator Jenni Chadwell.
