The 14th annual Dancing on the Bridge celebration will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, in downtown Malvern. This year the Malvern Community Development Fund is holding the festival as a gift to the community, in appreciation for the involvement and support they have shown for MCDF projects over the years.

Carol Brawley, MCDF President says "While we are not raising funds for a specific project, we want to share and celebrate all we have accomplished together, raising over $426,000 over the years. This is an incredible amount for such a small Village, and the MCDF Board of Trustees is very grateful and proud to partner with so many generous and caring people and businesses."

Improvements made to Malvern include a walking track, fitness stations, streetlights on the bridge and downtown streets, community flower planters, our double-sided Malvern clock, the Welcome to Malvern sign, benches, trees and playground equipment in the park, basketball and tennis courts, a "facelift" for Village Hall, a renovated Fire Siren Tower, a Creekside Overlook patio, new and renovated baseball dugouts, and new Christmas decorations for downtown Malvern.

Projects from just last year include new signs for the walking track and the nature trail, benches and welcome banners for downtown, a parent and child swing in the park, and walking track repair. All of this has been possible thanks to the generosity of donors, both local and from far away.

MCDF is considering projects for next year, possibly putting art on downtown buildings, and welcomes your input. MCDF accepts tax-deductible donations any time of year; donations should be mailed to MCDF, P.O. Box 18, Malvern OH 44644.

Dancing on the Bridge always brings our community together for a day of fellowship and fun. This year there will be more entertainment than ever before, a free children's play area, basket raffle, vendors, a vehicle show, valve cover car races, Hot Wheels races and a beer garden.

The event will celebrate the love of community that people have shown and shared in for so many years. For more information, go to www.dancingonthebridge.net or call the DOB 2017 Co-Chairwomen: Carol Brawley 330-863- 9234 or Susan Joyce 330-875- 3994.
