Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney Steven D. Barnett has announced that Part II of the Carroll County Grand Jury met July 5 for a half-day session. According to Barnett, the grand jury heard testimony from nine witnesses, involving eight cases, all of which were returned as indictments, while none were ignored.
Indictments were returned against the following:
Clay W. Heiser, 22, of 1431 Schneider Street NW, Canton, and Ricki W.A. Holmes, 21, of 149 Brooklyn Street SW, Canton, were each indicted on two counts of Breaking and Entering, each a felony of the fifth degree; one count of Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, a felony of the fourth degree; and one count of Petty Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. It is alleged that on or about January 8 Heiser and Holmes allegedly broke into two different unoccupied sheds at residences on Ivory Road and stole numerous tools, chain saws and at one location stole an all-terrain vehicle.
Dillon T. Brinson, 23, of 7595 Lakefield Street, Louisville, was indicted on one count of Improperly Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle, a felony of the fourth degree. It is alleged that on July 2 while investigating a traffic crash at the intersection of State Route 43 and State Route 183 in Brown Township, sheriff's deputies found Brinson allegedly in possession of a 9mm pistol that was loaded in his vehicle.
Timothy J. Carroll, Jr., 26, of 584 Cobblestone Avenue, Alliance, was indicted on one count of Possession of Heroin, a felony of the fifth degree; one count of Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments, a misdemeanor of the second degree; and one count of Drug Paraphernalia Offenses, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. It is alleged that on July 1 Carroll was allegedly found in possession of heroin, syringes and other paraphernalia when he was arrested during a traffic stop on State Route 183 by Carroll County Sheriff's Deputies near Minerva.
Prosecutor Barnett indicated arraignments would be held before Judge Dominick E. Olivito, Jr., in the Carroll County Court of Common Pleas on Thursday, July 13.
