Minerva choses three to attend Girls State

American Legion Valley Post 357 chose Jordan Crowe, Emaly Hart and CJ Litchfield of Minerva High School for this year's for the Buckeye Girls State program.

Juniors Crowe, Hart and Litchfield attended 2017 Buckeye Girls State at the University of Mount Union on June 11-17.

Buckeye Girls State is a seven-day intensive education program for high school students, both focus on education about Ohio government.

Each participant becomes a part of the operation of a local, county and state government. They are exposed to the rights, privileges, duties and responsibilities of franchised citizens.

Activities for the students include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law enforcement presentations, assemblies, a band and recreation.
