The residents of Centreville Village in Carrollton recently donated more than $600 to the Carroll County Animal Protection League.

"We had a resident who lived with us and was very supportive of the CCAPL," commented Laura Hanna, Centreville Village administrator. "She passed away, and we took over taking care of her adopted dog. We are all animal lovers."

The folks at Centreville held a yard sale, a bake sale at Dollar General, and manned a hot dog stand. Their efforts resulted in a donation of $606.97.

"The CCAPL is very appreciative of the efforts of the residents," stated Lorna Whaley, CCAPL vice president. "The money will go towards the cement that was just poured at the no-kill shelter we are building. We still have a ways to go on the building. We hope to be finished sometime in 2019. We already have invested $325,000 into the building, and need about $260,000 to finish the project."

Anyone wishing to make a donation can send a check to CCAPL, P.O. Box 353, Carrollton, OH 44615.
