Rotary plans affordable blood tests

The Minerva Rotary Club is sponsoring its annual blood analysis through AMBA Wellness Programs on Saturday, March 13, 6:30-9:30 a.m. at Minerva YMCA, 687 Lynwood Drive, Minerva.

The screening includes tests for coronary disease, diabetes, anemia, kidney disease, liver disease and more. The panel, which covers 35 tests, costs $40.

To make an appointment, call 1-800-234-8888 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please have your doctor's name and address available when calling. A personal physician authorization (prescription) is required.

Participants may also have the following optional tests: prostate specific antigen (PSA), $25.70; thyroxine (T4), $11; insure colon rectal kit, $20; and cardio CRP, $27. A separate physician order is required for any of the optional tests.

A 13-hour fast is recommended. This screening is not covered by Medicare and most insurance companies.

Checks or money orders only will be accepted the day of the program and should be made out to AMBA Wellness Programs for $35. A separate check or cash will be accepted for the $5 handling fee for Minerva Rotary Club.
