Minerva remains unbeaten with 8-1 win over United Local

The Minerva boys varsity soccer team improved to 2-0 with an 8-1 win over host United Local.

Devon Rogers had a spectacular match with five goals. Also scoring were Caleb Becker, Alex Gotschall and Caleb Sevcik.

Rogers has eight goals in the first two games of the season.

Assists went to Gotschall (3), Tony Sacco, Nathan Smith, Cole Sutek and Matt Brunner.

The Lions led in shots 18-7 and corners 3-0. Brunner recorded seven saves.

Minerva was to face Alliance on Aug. 31, before traveling to Ravenna Southeast this Saturday, Sept. 4. The boys will host Canton South on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
