The Lady Hornets concluded a very successful regular season with a 74-19 win over host Newcomerstown.
Tara Tucci paced the way for the winners with a career-high 23 points, six rebounds and four assists. She is now fourth on Malvern's all-time scoring list with 835 points.
Kelsi Hulit recorded a double-double with 14 points, 18 rebounds and five assists.
Kenzie Haidet had eight points and three boards; Hunter Martin had six points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals; LeaEllen Leslie had seven points and three rebounds; and Jasmine Goldsworthy had seven points, seven boards and four steals.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improved to 18-4 overall and finished second in the Inter-Valley Conference with a 13-3 mark, its highest finish ever in league play.
"I'm really proud of this team," commented Head Coach Doug Wackerly. "We had a goal to be able to put something on the banner and with this finish we will be able to do that. Finishing second in the IVC for the first time in school history is a big deal for us.
"We still have a lot of work ahead of us. We hope to have a good tournament run."

Hulit poured in 23 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and dished out four assists and Martin added 18 points, 12 boards, five steals and four assists in leading Malvern.
The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 23-5 first-quarter lead and were never threatened the rest of the way. Malvern took a 38-9 advantage into halftime, and led 50-21 with eight minutes remaining in the IVC contest.
Tucci added eight points and three rebounds, Goldsworthy had eight points and four boards, and Susan Thompson pulled down seven rebounds.
"We did what we had to do," said head coach Doug Wackerly. "I thought we passed the ball extremely well in the first half to get good shots. Our defense and rebounding got us a good lead at half and allowed us to cruise to a victory."
Malvern, the two seed in the Division IV East District Tournament, will host Caldwell (#16) on Thursday, Feb. 23, 7 p.m. If the Lady Hornets win, they will host either River (#8) or Beallsville (#10) on Saturday, Feb. 25, 7 p.m. Presale tickets ($6) can be purchased in the athletic office during school hours.
