Eight Minerva girls basketball players received the Northeastern Buckeye Conference Scholar Athlete Award during its season-ending banquet.
Honored for their achievements in the classroom and on the court are Alivia Bates, Reiley Cowart, Bri Gassman, Nora Yankovich, Kayla Kinsey, Lauren Frigyes, Madison Pearson and Nelle Yankovich.
Minerva Scholar Athlete Award recipients included Hannah Wayts, Madison Foutz, Elyssa Imler, Anna Overbey-Green, Gina Slentz, Alexa Walker and Makayla Williams-Geer.
Earning her fourth varsity letter is senior Bri Gassman.

Reserve awards went to junior Renee Hartong; sophomores Bellamy Alexander, Sarah Carver, Celina Dennis and Hannah Wayts; and freshmen Madison Foutz, Elyssa Imler, Anna Overbey-Green, Hydrangia Peebles, Gina Slentz, Skylar Trussel, Alexa Walker, Jenna Walton, Makayla Williams-Geer and Kirsten Zwick.

Coaches Association Scholarship gold certificate honorees included Alivia Bates, Reiley Cowart, Bri Gassman and Nora Yankovich. To achieve this honor, an athlete needs a 3.2 or higher grade point average for seven straight semesters.
Silver certificate recipients are Lauren Frigyes, Kayla Kinsey and Madison Pearson. This trio maintained a 3.2 or higher GPA for five straight semesters.
The Lady Lions posted an overall record of 14-11, reaching the district final for the second straight year.
