Malvern competed at the Fairless Tri-County Invitational this past weekend.
Kelsi Hulit paced the way for the Lady Hornets with 18 points. The junior won the discus with a throw of 122', and finished fourth in the shot with a distance of 32'9.
Zoe Moser displayed her quickness with a second-place finish in the 100 with a time of 13.04.
Lauren Foster scored in three events. The freshman was sixth in the long jump (13'11.5) and seventh in both the 400 (1:08.58) and 200 (30.09).
"Kelsi lead the way for us once again," stated Head Coach Jeremy Maher. "We were pleased to see freshman Lauren foster step up this week by with personal bests in the long jump and 400. Zoe also contributed by placing second in the 100.
"We look forward to beginning competition in the IVC this coming week and hope for continued progress by the girls."
St. Thomas won the girls title with 94 points. It was followed by Carrollton with 92.5, West Holmes with 80.5, Fairless with 73.5, Waynedale with 51.5, Tuslaw with 49.5, Canton South with 47, Canton Central with 37.5, Claymont with 37, Malvern with 30, Northwest with 22, Wickliffe with 19, Sandy Valley with 18 and East Canton with 9.
On the boys side, no one was able to crack the top eight and score.
Malvern will take part in the East Canton Invitational (at Canton South) this Saturday, April 8. The Hornets will travel to Sandy Valley for a triangular with East Canton on Tuesday, April 11.
