Haidet has two hits against Sandy Valley

It was a busy stretch for the Lady Hornets as they played four softball games in five days.

The week started with an 11-0 loss to Ridgewood.

Malvern had three hits on the day -- singles by Macy Zeiger, Kenzie Haidet and Danielle Casler.

Paige Elder pitched six innings, giving up 11 runs, five earned, on 10 hits.

Malvern 1

With the game tied at 1-1 after six innings of play, the visiting Lady Trojans exploded for five runs in the top of the seventh to pull out the win.

Zeiger scored the only run for Malvern in the third inning. Collecting hits were Elder and Cailin Wade.

Elder allowed six runs, three earned, on eight hits in seven innings of work. She struck out five and walked one.

The Saints broke a tie game with three runs in the fifth inning.

Hope Whaley singles, scored a run and had an RBI; Madison Lewis had an RBI single; and Casler went 2-for-2 with a double and run scored.

Elder allowed six runs, five earned, on seven hits in six innings of work.

Malvern 3

Zeiger had two hits, two runs scored and a stolen base to lead the Lady Hornets.

Haidet singled twice, stole a base and scored a run; and Casler, Jordan Holmes and Wade each had an RBI.

Elder pitched five and 2/3 innings, giving up five earned runs on 11 hits and three walks.

Malvern (3-10, 0-8) will host Garaway this Friday, April 28; and travel to Hiland on Tuesday, May 2; and to Strasburg on Wednesday, May 3.
