Malvern recorded its first league win of the season, beating Hiland 10-5.
Danielle Casler led the offense with a single, double, two RBIs and a run scored.
Madison Lewis had a base hit and two runs batted in; Paige Elder had two hits and an RBI; Jordan Holmes went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored; Macy Zeiger and Kenzie Haidet both singled and scored two runs; and Cailin Wade doubled and scored a run.
Elder went the distance, giving up one earned run on eight hits.

The Lady Hornets took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single by Elder, plating Zeiger, who led off the game with a base hit.
Those would be the only two hits for Malvern, as the Lady Trojans scored four in their half of the first and cruised to a five-inning victory.
Elder pitched four and 2/3 innings, giving up 11 runs, four earned, on 13 hits, striking out two.

Zeiger went 2-for-3 with a run scored during a non-league loss to the Lady Rockets.
Casler had an RBI single in the opening inning, and Hanna Harsha went 1-for-2. Jordan Holmes stole two bases.
Elder allowed 11 runs, three earned, in four innings. She struck out three and walked three.

Casler provided the only highlight of the game for the Lady Hornets with a two-run single in the fourth inning, plating Zeiger and H. Kendall.

Malvern will host Tusky Central today (May 4) and East Canton on Friday, May 5; before traveling to Ridgewood on Monday, May 8.
Division IV East District Tournament
Malvern received the 13th seed and will travel to #8 Shadyside on Monday, May 8, 5 p.m. The winner will take on either #4 Frontier or #12 Fort Frye on Wednesday, May 10, 5 p.m. at the better seeded team's site.
