Elyssa Imler had a two-run homer during Minerva's 10-5 loss to Canton South.
Imler went deep in the fifth inning, plating Madison Booth, who led off the frame with a single.
Imler also singled in the seventh and scored a run.
Mady Phillips doubled as the Lady Lions collected seven hits on the day.
Lauren Frigyes pitched seven innings, giving up 10 runs, eight earned, on 12 hits. She struck out 10 and walked two.
"South came in game ready and had a big second inning offensively," commented Head Coach Nicole Hilliard. "We struggled in the early innings to get our offense going. Our girls stayed after it and put some runs on the board late, but came up short."
Minerva (9-7, 4-7) will close out the regular season at Salem today (May 11).
