Malvern closed out the 2017 baseball season with a 4-1 win over East Canton.
Jaret Majestic had his best out of his senior year, allowing just one earned run on three hits, striking out 13 for the complete-game win.
Jordan Browning and Drew Hutchison each had RBI singles.
"It was nice to end the year with a win, which most teams do not get a chance to do," commented Head Coach Matt Chiurco. "I thought our three seniors played their best games of the year. Jaret was outstanding on the mound. It was his best pitching performance of the year.
"Hunter Mullins made some big plays in the field and Jordan had a big hit early on. It was a good way to end the year."
The Hornets closed out the 2017 season with an overall mark of 6-15, 3-13 in league play.
Tusky Central - 15
Malvern - 1
In a sectional opener for both schools, Tusky Central rolled to a five-inning win.
Alex Skinner collected two hits and an RBI, and Jade Goldsworthy recorded a base hit.
Majestic pitched four and 2/3 innings, allowing 13 runs, two earned, on seven hits, striking out nine.
Ridgewood - 14
Malvern - 6
Mullins singled and doubled and Hutchison collected two hits to lead the Hornets' offensive attack.
Chase Meyer, Hutchison, Gavyn Potts and Browning combined on the mound to give up 14 runs on 10 hits, striking out three.
