Zoe Moser and Kelsi Hulit won two individual events in leading Malvern to a fifth-place showing at the 2017 Inter-Valley Conference Track and Field Championships.
Moser, a freshman, set two meet records as she won the 100 in 12.63 and the 200 in 26.13.
Hulit captured the discus with a throw of 123'10 and the shot with a heave of 38'5.75.
The duo teamed up with Lauren Foster and Vanessa Stanbro to place second in the 4x100 with a time of 53.98.
Foster placed in three other events. She was fourth in the 200 (28.81), fifth in the 400 (1:06.13), and seventh in the long jump (13'11).
Laura Rodgers was seventh in the 3200 (15:17.97), eighth in the 800 (2:47.11), and was a member of the eighth-place 4x800 (12:43.64) along with Gabby Lawrence, Breawna Gillogly and Makayla Bowe.
"We were very competitive today," commented Head Coach Jeremy Mayer. Kelsi and Zoe led the way as both are IVC champs in multiple events. Zoe also broke meet records in the 100 and 200. Lauren Foster placed in all events she participated in. We look forward to next week and moving forward to districts."
Malvern will take part in the district meet at Newcomerstown High School on Tuesday and Friday, May 16 and 19.
The top four in each event will advance to the regional meet at Perry High School on May 24 and May 26.
