Malone University left fielder Keanan Locke, already named Academic All-District as well as G-MAC First Team All-Conference, added All-Midwest Region honors to his growing list of postseason accolades.

The All-Midwest Region Teams, which are sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association and voted on by sports information directors within the region, recognize the top players at each position among schools in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Locke, the G-MAC Player of the Year, was among 16 players voted to the All-Midwest Region First Team. As members of the First Team, Locke will now advance to the national ballot with All-America teams to be announced on May 26. The senior was also named to the NCBWA All-Midwest Region second team.

Locke, a Minerva High School graduate, was one of three outfielders named First Team All-Region following a tremendous senior campaign in which he hit .405 with eight homeruns and 53 RBIs. He collected 20 doubles, one shy of Malone's single-season record, and two triples.

Locke slugged .690 and reached base at a .452 clip, finishing with a near-Ruthian 1.142 OPS. On the base paths, he was 7-of-9 in stolen base attempts and scored 39 runs. Defensively, he did not commit an error and was credited with two outfield assists.
