The American Cancer Society will have an educational program for cancer survivors and caregivers on "Complementary Therapy" on Tuesday, July 27, 6:30 p.m. at the society's Northeast Ohio Region office, 525 North Broad St. in Canfield.

Shellie Warino, BS, RT, the clinical coordinator of radiation therapy at Kent State University, is the featured speaker.

"Complementary Therapy" refers to treatments, techniques, or methods that are used along with standard or mainstream medicine. Some of these therapies may help relieve certain symptoms of cancer or its treatment.

Some types of therapy include acupuncture, prayer/spiritual practice, relaxation, nutritional supplements and vitamins, meditation, religious counseling, massage, support groups, yoga, hypnosis, aromatherapy and Reiki.

The program is free but limited to 50. Reservations may be made by calling Deborah Moore at the American Cancer Society at 1-888-227-6446, ext. 2104.
