Kevin Spencer & Friends to perform Saturday

Kevin Spencer & Friends, a southern-gospel group organized in 1992, will present a concert at the Carrollton Bible Chapel, 365 Steubenville Road, Carrollton, on Saturday, March 6, at 7 p.m.

Kevin Spencer & Friends includes Kevin Spencer, James Dean and Starla Dean ,and is based in Ashland.

Spencer, who formerly traveled with the Spencers, owns and operates the Some Dawning Music Company International Inc., which records, publishes, promotes and produces southern-gospel music. The Deans also work at Some Dawning Music Company.

The trio have recorded several number-one and two songs, including "The Blood Is Still There," "If the Rapture Was Yesterday," "Walk On the Water," and "Let's Meet By the River." They have been awarded the Singing News "Horizon Group of the Year" and the Gospel Voice "Sunrise Group of the Year," the two highest honors for a new group to receive. Bill Gaither has invited the group to be a part of this videos, "All Day Singing," "So Glad," and "Sunday Meetin' Time."
