Carroll County Recorder Patricia Oyer reminds all area veterans that Armed Service discharge certificates are maintained for permanent record by the recorder's office, but only if the individual requests it.
The discharge is not automatically recorded upon discharge from a veteran's respective branch of service.
"This is a very simple, but important step to protect your veterans' benefits," said Oyer.
There is no fee involved in getting this recorded. She urges all veterans to make sure their discharge certificates are recorded. For further information, please check the Carroll County Recorder's Office website, carrollcountyohio.us.
